Yemen has been through a lot, and one of the horrifying crisis is the explosion of Beirut. The ongoing civil war and the COVID-19 pandemic has caused disastrous effects on Yemen. With 20 million Yemenis having food insecurity and 19 million with no clean water source, the crisis is the worst it has ever been. UNICEF has confirmed that 80% of Yemen's population needs assistance, with more than 10 million children being affected. Furthermore, the hospital facilities that are still functioning lack the essentials like gloves and masks to perform the daily procedures. The healthcare workers are receiving little to no pay doing their work hard to accomplish. You must realize that these workers are giving their lives to try and save and restore the health of others but lack the resources.
Another thing is closing schools that happened suddenly and the healthcare services being disabled education and medical services preventing the country from escaping poverty. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused 7.9 children to be affected by these impacts and contributes to Yemen's malnutrition. Even though it seems like there is very little hope, UNICEF has donated over 18,000 covid-19 tests and 66,000 masks and face shields.
