I am someone who is all about comfortability, especially when it comes to my apparel choices. Of course, I will wear something a little stiff from time to time, but you know what they say, “Beauty is (sometimes) pain”. Though I love an occasional bell bottom, nothing can go wrong with a simple pair of leggings. For those who disagree, here are my reasons as to why I believe, from my perspective, why leggings are simply the best fashion item.
1) Comfort
I cannot stress this enough. Leggings are probably the most comfortable piece of clothing that anyone can ever wear. Since the fabric is soft, flexible and lightweight, they don’t constrict movement, which is amazing if you want to do your morning stretches.
2) They go with (literally) Everything
Most leggings come in black, which can be matched with anything and everything. Whether it’s a graphic tee or leather top, you won’t have to worry about your outfit looking mis-matched.
3) Come in all colors and patterns!
Though most leggings are commonly black, there are a variety of shades and patterns to choose from. I keep a few color-block pairs in my closet. Some leggings come in sets so you will not only have a variety of colors, but also more pairs to add to your wardrobe.
4) Very weather efficient
Leggings are perfect for every season, especially during the winter. As a Chicagoan who experiences harsh, snowy weathers every year, leggings are definitely my go-to apparel item with an oversized knit sweater and pair of boots.
5) Perfect for every occasion
What’s amazing about leggings is its versatility. Whether you’re going out with friends or taking a trip to your couch, they are the perfect pant option if you’re undecided on what to wear. Heck, they can definitely work as a red carpet look! Maybe the next Met Gala theme should revolve around leggings.
I believe it’s necessary for every individual to have at least one pair of leggings in their wardrobe. No matter what mood you’re in, they work for any occasion, even if you’re only taking a short trip to your couch.
